Ampeg V Series

The Ampeg V series was an array of tube amplifiers originally released during Magnavox's acquisition of the company in 1970 and produced until MTI's acquisition of Magnavox in 1980. The majority of the V series consisted of guitar amps in both head and cabinet and combo amplifier configurations. One model of the V series have been reissued by the current Ampeg company.

Ampeg also added a solid-state bass amplifier to the line, the V-6B, which was sold with a 2-15" cabinet and rated at 240W.

The V-4 was reissued for a period in the 90's-00's by Ampeg under its SLM ownership as the V-4R. Conceptually similar to the original (100W, 12ax7 preamp section and four 6L6's in the power amp section) it is nonetheless both electronically and cosmetically distinct from its ancestor.
